چکیده
Solar Urticaria (SU) is a rare, chronic inducible urticaria characterised by an itching or burning erythemal flare with without whealing, that can develop within minutes of exposure to ultraviolet radiation (UVR) and/or visible light. It hypothesised unidentified endogenous photo-allergen may be the trigger, leading IgE-mediated mast cell degranulation. However, evolution response and mechanisms involved are not well understood. We undertook UVR provocation study transcriptome analysis examine early events in SU pathophysiology. Patients diagnosed (n=4) were provoked on photoprotected upper buttock skin 10J/cm2 solar simulated UVR. Skin biopsies taken 30min, 3h 24h post from adjacent unexposed skin. A comparator group healthy volunteers underwent same biopsy protocol. samples analysed RNAseq immunofluorescent staining. Transcriptomic revealed activation inflammation DAMP signalling pathways patients but controls across all time points. Upstream regulator highlighted TNFα, Toll-like receptors, several interleukins. Immunofluorescence showed extracellular release TNFα was significantly higher as 30 UVR, (P=0.01). Notably, causal predicted down-regulation transcription factor DLX3 compared controls. staining observably lower levels epidermal Our data show involve chemotactic inflammatory following single which seen Baseline differences production indicate possible disruption homeostasis patients. Machine Learning Approaches for Deciphering Complex Pathomechanisms in Cancer
Recent years have seen a dramatic increase in the amount of genetic information stored in electronic format. It has been estimated that the amount of information in genomics and proteomics doubles every 20 months and the size and number of databases are increasing even faster. It is widely accepted that a sophisticated exploration of such data is crucial in a variety of fields such as disease g...
متن کاملDeciphering solar magnetic activity: on grand minima in solar activity
The Sun provides the energy necessary to sustain our existence. While the Sun provides for us, it is also capable of taking away. The weather and climatic scales of solar evolution and the Sun-Earth connection are not wellunderstood. There has been tremendous progress in the century since the discovery of solar magnetism—magnetism that ultimately drives the electromagnetic, particulate, and eru...
متن کاملAnalysis of solar urticaria in Thai patients.
BACKGROUND Solar urticaria (SU) is an uncommon photodermatosis characterized by erythema and whealing within minutes to a few hours after exposure to sunlight or an artificial light source. OBJECTIVE To determine the clinical features, photobiological characteristics and treatment outcomes in Thai SU patients visiting a tertiary referral hospital. METHOD A retrospective analysis of 13 patie...

The corona is a high-temperature portion of the Sun’s outer atmosphere, beginning slightly above the visible surface and extending hundreds of thousands of kilometers, or further, into interplanetary space. A precise definition of the term “corona” is to some extent dependent on one’s theoretical bias: if the solar atmosphere is viewed as spherically symmetric and homogeneous (“plane-parallel”)...
متن کاملDeciphering Solar Magnetic Activity: Spotting Solar Cycle 25
We present observational signatures of solar cycle 25 onset. Those signatures are visibly following a migratory path from high to low latitudes. They had starting points that are asymmetrically offset in each hemisphere at times that are 21–22 years after the corresponding, same polarity, activity bands of solar cycle 23 started their migration. Those bands define the so-called “extended solar ...
